    I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Meeting new people and being able to assist customers with their electronic purchases.

    Cons

    Company does not value individuals. Sees them all as disposable. They would rather hire someone from outside the company rather than to promote from within. They also try to "brainwash" employees to mindlessly do whatever they are told. They do not appreciate employee feedback on ways to better their work environment.

    Not very flexible in terms of being able to switch shifts if something personal arises.

    Advice to Management

    Take some of your time to get to know your employees. Many are exceptionally skilled in what they do, and almost all of them are under-appreciated and/or paid. All it takes is 5 minutes to bring the morale up and show your employees that they too can be treated like human beings, rather than robots with a price tag.

    Advancement opportunities, personal development, fun people, community programs.

    Cons

    Senseless tasks, poor Corporate leadership, weak pay scale for hourly employees, wasted money every day, jumbled Company direction.

    Advice to Management

    Retrain yourselves and listen to what your employees and analyst are telling you.
