No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The company has awesome benefits and I've been through a few reorganizations and they always seem to take care of their people. They are dedicated on hiring individuals that strive to be the best and will help them on this journey.

Cons

It's retail so you work crazy hours and holidays.

    Pros

Working with nice people and cool gadgets

    Cons

Upper management are ALL political and reward others regardless of achievements!! I've seen GM's Shrink out their stores and then be promoted to District Support staff!! Rediculous!!

    Advice to Management

Get back to your basics and take care of the customer and your employees

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Strong emphasis on Employee satisfaction
    Excellent Benefits and Bonus incentives
    Better than competitive pay

    Cons

Long Hours, averaging 60/week as a salaried manager
    Nights, Weekends and ALL Holidays
6+ day work weeks several weeks a year
In other words, no such thing as a work/life balance. its all work, including several times daily phone calls.

    Advice to Management

Remember that managers are employee's too, and family should be higher on the priority list.
Their is no use to having an SOP if stores are allowed to deviate from that and create their own policies or procedures.
