I have been working at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

- Monthly bonus on revenue + GREAT discount on product
- Work/life balance is great (minus holiday season)
- Constant product/sales training
- Personal and professional growth
- One of the best resume builders you can have
- 100% focused on the employee

Cons

- Long hours during holidays
- Internal advancement is proving to be rather difficult, but not impossible
- Certain duties can be tasking ie: 6 AM audits, cross department selling etc.

Advice to Management

Less micro-management (when its not actually necessary), One-on-One reviews NEED to be monthly.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only nice thing are the employee discounts for all the toys that everyone wants. Dealing directly with certain manufacturers such as Samsung and Canon allows for us to buy the latest and greatest for astoundingly low prices.

    Cons

Non-commissioned position, but management still puts sales requirements in your department. Benefits are average at best.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

How much you'll enjoy this job depends pretty heavily on your sup. If you have a good one or a good team to work with, you can get your thoughts taken fairly seriously into consideration. It's a relaxed culture and we like to have fun, and everyone there seems to take helping customers in an unbiased way fairly seriously.

    Cons

There's no real clear path to advancement except sticking to the party line, and I've seen people on the path to a career screwed over a lot. It also doesn't pay SUPER well, comparatively. You get to interact with more people than say, a grocery store job, but that may not keep you happy when you're required to have weekend availability, inconsistent hours and long waits for advancement.
