Pros

Great managers. Work as a team. Not your 9-5 in a cubicle. Day goes very fast.

Cons

Hours not consistent for part time employees.

Advice to Management

Consistent hours for part-time employees.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent selling experience and capability to tailor solutions to consumer needs

    Cons

When interviewing for the job, the interviewer made it seem more that the position was tailored towards the customer than towards generating corporate revenue. Every Saturday morning, my department sat down in the conference room, discussing margin goals and the past week's performance. The performance was always below target, because target is set exceptionally high. The managers really push the sale, and question you like an idiot when a customer decides not to purchase your computing solution after your initial recommendations. The training process is very minimal, which can be viewed as either positive or negative, depending on how quickly you like to get your feet wet in the business.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees as people, not as tools and resources

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Competitive pay for high school and college students. Gives as many hours as you request up to 40 hours per week. Coworkers are great.

    Cons

Poor management, played favorites. Contacting HR about a problem only led to the manager knowing and your hours being cut. Did you approve time off requests.
