I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

-They pay above minimum wage
-PLENTY of hours during holiday season
-Very respectful of school hours, other jobs, and just general life.
-Great treatment from company
-Plenty of opportunities to get extra hours (volunteer for midnight openings!)
-Store I worked had lots of drawings for cash or lunch or rewards for selling a certain amount or signing up a certain number of credit cards.
-Lunches you get paid to go to.
-They want you to get paid for coming in and filling out paper work. Awesome!
-ETK

Cons

-Management expects you to follow customers around and bother them to buy something. I've heard a few customer complaints on this.
-Most of the people in the computer section were lazy towards their jobs.

Advice to Management

Be a little more polite to customers and respect their personal spaces.
Watch every department for people who aren't willing to work. There are plenty of people out there who would gladly do the job instead.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They teach you the business side of retail. Gain knowledge on latest and greatest. Great for students. Lot's of training that they cover including travel (if you inspire to make a career out of it). Learned great sales techniques.

    Cons

Company restructures can make your financial life very difficult. My pay was cut by 1/3 a year before I left. They are going through many changes. Which can be a good thing, but it's trial and error. I saw many errors. Very recently I see the company is starting to move in the right direction with such strategies as "Online Price Matching".

    Advice to Management

    None.
