I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

Pros

They teach you a lot about electronic products, and effective sales techniques

Cons

Not a fast promoting atmosphere for employees

Advice to Management

Try to build up people who work for you and train them for leadership positions.

    I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    You can meet lots of people from all over, it's fun to watch thieves attempt to steal from the cams, and the discount was cool

    Cons

    Pay was OK, but they rarely gives raises to part timers. Also, management can be sticklers about insignificant tasks, but they are managers so I guess it makes sense.........even when it doesn't

    Access to latest technology, great discounts on products, and, great discounts on products.

    Cons

    unmotivated coworkers, which leads to need for micromanagement, which leads to challenges identifying motivated to complacent workers.

    Advice to Management

    Allow those who are doing well in sales to see their numbers. ask them if they are interested in seeing them in private and let them fill in where they feel they can improve.
