I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

For most it was a great work environment. It was like working with your friends everyday. Got to pal with the newest electronic gadgets

Cons

Management shifts are frequent, and not always for the best. Some managers just get cycled around when they're not meeting their goals. Training can be spotty an not 100% informative

Advice to Management

Invest in your infrastructure to make employees jobs easier, and provide better quality training instead of a video have actual trainers who are certified

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

ROWE, relaxed culture, they "recycled" their employees, coffee shops and gym.

    Cons

Lot sof people not wanting to work (esp on Mondays and Fridays), a lot of "networking" when really it's just people messing around. Jobs that a college student who wants to work 25 hrs a week could be doing, is filled by a person who is willing to work for cheap at 40 hrs a week.... difficult to switch positions internally.

    Advice to Management

Give your hard workers a decent raise!

I worked at Best Buy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall there was a positive team atmosphere, the job worked with my schedule as a student, and most managers recognized it was a stepping stone for me until I left college.

    Cons

For some people customer interaction and some managers pushing aggressive selling strategies was a big downside; sometimes you had to deal with extremely irate customers
