I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I got to talk to customers about things I'm interested in.
Sometimes had cookouts and played games.

    Cons

Managers are all rude. Every single one of them. They don't know how to lead or communicate. Very condescending and they don't know how to do anything that they ask you to do. Always a mixed message. One day you're not allowed to do something and then the next day they're coming down on you for the very thing they told you not to do. More interested in numbers than sales associates or customers. Definitely no room for advancement. They make a lot of promises but there is always a catch to it. Working there gave me the hives.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers, that's how BBY gets you to stay and work for minimum wage like pay. You get attached to your co-workers and they quickly become your friends. You'll go above and beyond for them because of your loyalty to them all the while BBY reaps the rewards for you doing your bosses jobs for them because you don't want to see your friends fail. That being said, they're still some of the best friends I've ever had.

    Cons

The pay, the micro-management, the sales oriented day to day operations of the store. Even though you're not on commission, managers will drive you every day as though you are. Heavy favoritism takes place in the store as does nepotism. Raises? Yea, you get year raises...of like 10 cents...or if you're lucky and "exceeded expectations"....a whopping quarter.

    Advice to Management

As a multi-billion dollar company, you would think you'd be able to pay your employees more than $9.50 an hour. With the amount of responsibility BBY places on their employees, to make day to day goals...you may as well start paying them commission if you're going to teach them to be car salesmen.
