I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The benefits are some of the best around including health coverage, discount, and ease of relocating and keeping your job. I work from home with my position which is very convenient and the company has been doing a lot better recently which adds to job security.

Cons

The pay could be better although the benefits make up for that mostly.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - They pay top dollar!
    - depending on your job, the hours are very flexable
    - Employee discount is very good
    - Other benifits such as medical, dental, vision, life, 401K, vacation, etc are all very good
    - The Corp Office is a great work environment with banking, child care, dry cleaning, postal services and much more available right on campus.
    - Company leadership is now very focused

    Cons

    - Company is still very shaky in terms of Comp Sales
    - They continue to eliminate positions almost on a weekly basis
    - job stability is not good
    - new job opportunity is much more limited than in the past

    Advice to Management

You say you are focused on training the employee. But you do not provide the labor or type of facilitated training to accomplish your goal.
You need to also provide the proper labor, at the right times, to help all of your customers.
Stop with the weekly jjob eliminations. Your people are scared about job security. Give it a rest for some time and let them focus on their jobs. You can start again next spring.

  2. "Disappointed, Crap for pay, no one cares about the discount."

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A major group of co-works are great people.

    Cons

Pay is awful when it comes to people who have great experience. If other companies are paying their employees more to do the same work with less knowledge, experience, and courtesy then its seems that company does not truly value their employees, at lease their part time and no corp employees. Moving up in the company has been awful and people with little knowledge seem to always get the promotions. It is always like watching little children with a power trip.

    Advice to Management

Look at how other markets are doing with their employees. Yeah, you can mask things for a while, but people learn and leave fast. Better Pay for people who have the skills do the job does in fact shows how the company feels about someone. With the crap pay you give the person, its shows that you do not care for their ability and workmanship for the company. Bosuns and discounts mean nothing at all if, someone is making the right amount of money at there job, they do not care what they pay for a product.
