    Pros

Good benefits. People you work with are usually like family.

    Cons

Company sometimes gets caught up in trying to make all the stores the same to improve customer experience, which keeps the stores from being able to cater to the needs of their local clients.

    Advice to Management

Put more trust in the hands of local management who understands the stores needs, stop micromanaging.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very generous employee discount, meetings with vendors were fun, a lot of room to move up in the company.

    Cons

Far too much emphasis is placed on selling service plans. Even though you aren't commissioned, you must still make a quota or face the consequences. Supervisors do nothing but belittle employees who do not make quota. Associates will do whatever it takes to make this quota, even if it means having a customer leave the store for not purchasing a service plan. This type of pressure creates unwanted stress in the work environment, and for this reason, it is not a good job for college students.

    Advice to Management

Value the customer, whether they want to purchase a service plan or not.
