I worked at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The environment, helping customers, being around technology, discounts, benefits.

Cons

Inconsistent hours, based off performance, managers care more about credit card applications, and Geek Squad then the actual customers, manager push you too hard to do something.

Advice to Management

If you want to have good employees congratulate them on a job well done, let them do what they need to do to make a sale. Don't make them become robots, and read questions off a paper so you don't get in trouble. Let the customers find the best solution for the customer. Not what makes the company the most money.

I have been working at Best Buy as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Always something happening. Always something broken, and hence you will have something to fix!!

    Active 24x7x365

    Cons

Screwed if you are a contractor, especially if you are going through a 3rd party Asian firm. Watch how many hours you work, or, if you work more, then make sure you get paid for the same.

    Advice to Management

Listen, and learn. There is a reason why Amazon and other companies are growing while Best Buy is not.

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They offer great benefits to their employees, there are opportunities to change positions within the company, and easy to get hired back if you decide to leave.

    Cons

The values that Best Buy promotes to the public, does not truly reflect what is really being done to their employees or the customers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the feed back of the employees and less on the share holders; customers will then want to shop in your store more.
