I have been working at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The $9.50 and hour for a high school student was awesome. Also some fantastic discounts and free technology perks. Also you get to work with some of the latest and greatest technology.

    Cons

Supervisors micromanage and are very concerned with sales and quotas as opposed to ensuring knowledgeable employees. Depending on the salesperson they may recommend something you don't need in order to sell more. While not always true, this practice often occurs. Also long Christmas season hours.

    Advice to Management

Educate the employees on technology and if employees are knowledgeable and can accurately list the differences of different technologies they will naturally be able to suggest the best option which in the long run will sell more. Don't just teach how to sell, teach the technology.
