I have been working at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

They do try and work with round your schedule so it great for students and parents

Cons

To many unnecessary eLearning. They do not give heads up on big schedule changes so you can be working 24hr a week they can put you down to 8 or less the next week so pay is not steady.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - A great culture of folks who try to make the work fun
    - Very reasonable with scheduling
    - Bosses who provide support where needed then get out of the way
    - TONS of online training, both required and optional
    - Training that is honest about objectives (eg. it is a business that wants to maximize profits; a lot of companies are afraid to say that)
    - A very quantitative assessment system that lets you know exactly how you're doing
    - I get to wear this cool little radio in my ear and talk with my fellow work peeps (Chatter is discouraged, but still)

    Cons

    - Incentives, but no commission (I'd be more OK with that if the salary was higher)
    - The corporate culture sometimes falls flat on trying to be cool and is just cheesy
    - Little to no advancement potential

    Advice to Management

Honestly, I think any potential improvements local leadership could make is limited by corporate mandates. For instance, such a quantitative performance tracking system makes pay raises easily justifiable (or not), but local managers are capped on salaries.
