I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than a year)

Pros

It was great getting to work with and learn about all the latest technology especially being a tech enthusiast, the discount was really nice too.

Cons

management at times cared too much about sales and not enough about employee experience, holiday work schedule was very demanding especially as we began opening earlier and earlier for black Friday and Thanksgiving

Advice to Management

Focus more on employee and consumer experience happy employees make great workers, and an amzing customer experience makes for loyal customers.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of innovation and valuable sales experience for entry level employees. Lots of challenges for young supervisors, providing plenty of opportunity for development. Great employee discount!

    Cons

Very frequent changes in culture and management. Managers are often under-educated and demand results without providing any meaningful input on how to accomplish those results. Often, intra-store competitions have a negative impact on teamwork.

    Advice to Management

Identify opportunities, develop a simple plan to exploit them and stick with it.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learning about technology. AWESOME Co-workers. Sales experience. Gaining confidential work ethics. Making customers feel welcomed. Varies from different store location. Etc

    Cons

Unfair management (obviously), Policies on sales. Retail. Unfair schedule changes without you knowing till you happen to found out. Varies from different locations. Etc

    Advice to Management

Do not change schedules for your employees, WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE EMPLOYEE!! In other words, do not change my work schedule, without notifying me ahead of time. Act like you care about your staff more than the revenue. Keep up with your staff, including their names!! Other wise you may have some unwilling employees, actions are everything.
