I have been working at Best Buy full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

- Fun environment to work in with cool gadgets to play with.
- Employee discount is awesome to have.
- Pay is good, but come at the retail price (hours, holidays).

Cons

- Work-life balance can be hard to achieve sometimes.
- It is retail hours which means no holidays off and every year you are opening earlier and earlier.

I have been working at Best Buy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone I work with has been handpicked to perfection. It's like a family.

    Cons

Customers usually know what they want which makes competing with online retailers a bit of a challeenge.

    Advice to Management

We should offer gift wrapping as a service. Too many customers (especially around the holidays) request this. We make most of our money off of accessories and geek squad services. Why not add another source of revenue?

  2. "A company with a losing approach and sad outlook"

I worked at Best Buy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of your coworkers become your friends.

    Cons

Management is horrid. If you like working hard for unfair wages, and having clueless managers breathing down your neck constantly, then this is the job for you. I worked at Best Buy for 3 years, and every year was worse then the last. It doesn't matter how many sales you make management will always find something to complain about. Write ups and sit downs are a constant in the daily life of a Best Buy employee. Moral is constantly low.

    Advice to Management

Your salespeople are the life force of your business. Instead of degrading them, and treating grown men and women like children, reward them for their performance. You are stuck in the ways of the past by putting fear into employees. Become a 21st century proactive company with different practices and attitudes that rub off on the employees. Some of you don't even deserve a managerial title, because you don't know what that means. You will fold as a company because your methods are antiquated.
