    Pros

Employee discount is really good and covers a very broad range of products. If you have a good manager, there can be a lot of freedom in how you work.

    Cons

Management is generally very poor. Incentives don't really exist (they removed the ability to bonus for most employees), pay caps are low considering the level of work that's usually required from you (even for managers) and in Geek Squad specifically, there's not a very good career path with little room for advancement (they will tell you differently and you shouldn't listen: The reality is the old-timers tend to stick around and very few positions open up past the entry level ones that experience a lot of turnover). Don't be fooled: This is fundamentally NOT a repair-tech position and very little work is actually authorized to be performed at the store level. Most of working in Geek Squad revolves around shipping, receiving, checking returned products for damage, and trying to sell services to a hodge-podge of customers ranging from senile to angry. As an ARA you will likely spend most of your time running Windows Update, installing drivers, doing SSD installs and PSU swaps. It's not a bad gig for an entry level tech looking to grab a little experience and extra cash, but the pressure to sell services and do busy work that has nothing to do with the repair business will probably be very off-putting to someone who is serious about this business.
