Pros

Employees that work here are great
Pay is decent
Competitive environment

Cons

Terrible work/life balance. No time to spend with your family. Extra responsibilities added on a daily basis. You get paid to do a job that you can't actually manage because you are too busy focusing on other tasks passed down from district management to general management.

Advice to Management

Focus on top 3 most important areas and stick to them. Stop adding extra pointless work and stay consistent, focusing on what is most important.

    Pros

    Development of internal talent.
    Challenging work with fun products.
Great 401k, time off and health benefits for full time employees.
World class short term bonus system, even for part time employees.

    Cons

The company is very leadership top heavy making innovation hard. New employee training at the store level is weak.

    Advice to Management

Stop creating so many competing priorities for people to go after. Continue the investment in development of employees and creating a fun workplace.

I worked at Best Buy part-time

    Pros

The company really is concerned with teaching the employees about the products and services they offer. Lots of virtual learning! Also, their sales training is excellent for retail.

    Cons

I thought being treated like a highly commissioned salesperson was kind of odd, since Best Buy definitely is not commission. So basically the incentive to sell more is not so great.

    Advice to Management

Either raise pay or create a new bonus structure! Why should the top salesperson make the same amount as the worst salesperson? If this gets changed you may actually retain more good employees!
