Pros

I loved everything about working at Best Buy. Especially all of the people that I worked with. They really made the experience fun.

Cons

Some people might not have liked setting up the different packages on a saturday night. But i absolutely loved it.

Advice to Management

I think that they should not have to change a thing. Best Buy is a fun place to work and when you leave you still feel like you have accomplished something.

    Pros

Best Buy provides their employees with a decent employee discount program, which is 5% over company cost on most items.

    Cons

The management staff at Best Buy tends not to care about their employees as people. It takes a while until you can see that they lie about how much they value their employees, but eventually it comes out that they really do not value their sales staff. Promotions are not provided at all in a fair way (I even received a promotion that I was not the best candidate for, because I was friends with the managers that did the hiring). Best Buy looks only for the cheapest person to do a job, not the best person to do the job. The management staff at Best Buy also does very little work, which does not provide a good model to employees, then threaten to "hold employees accountable" for avoiding customers and talking in groups just as the managers do.

    Advice to Management

Best Buy would get much better performance out of their employees and likely have better customer experiences if the store level managerial staff genuinely cared about their sales staff and had consistent levels of accountability placed on their employees/

    Pros

The pay is weak. Great place to start in the work place to build a good foundation. There are tons of opportunity to grow within the company at any of its retail chains or corporate offices. Best Buy offers great benefits and a 401k plan for a retail store.

    Cons

sometimes business decisions conflict with the employees and in some cases cause lost sales. please always listen to the advice of your employees on the ground, they see what happens everyday in the store that can make a huge impact on customer satisfaction, loyalty and sales.

    Advice to Management

You have a great marketing team, the best in the industry. Great sales training. Give your tech guys the tools they need to perform the job.
