I have been working at Big Lots full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

They offered me a fair wage with a good benefits package. They were upfront and honest with me and remained very professional throught the hiring process

Cons

Inshurance is a little pricey and there is a 1 year waiting period before you are elligable for your 401k plan

Advice to Management

Continue to go in the direction you are by cleaning up the stores to get business from a wider ranged demographic.

    I worked at Big Lots part-time (More than 3 years)

    Stable job, steady stream of customers

    Weird assortment, horrible management, no room for advancement, no real grasp of inventory

    Advice to Management

    This company could be so much better if only there was a little effort from the top down. First, the employees are treated like absolutely garbage on a daily basis. The stores are so understaffed to the point that it's pathetic. Stock can hardly be put out on the systems that you have set in place and there is never time to pulled expired food from the shelves. Serving as customer service specialist, there were times when I work from open to close as the only front end employee. I would have lines with 10 people or more and seeing as their was only one other employee in the store (who would be loading furniture into somebody's vehicle) I would not be able to have backup.
