I have been working at Billy Casper Golf full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Ive been working for the company for 5 years now and have quickly gone from bag attendant to AGM. The company allows for advancement for those that try hard and succeed.

    Cons

Golf industry as a whole is very demanding. Having worked for several different companies this is not specific to billy casper.

    Advice to Management

Keep your eye on new talent! I appreciated the attention and benefitted from it!

I worked at Billy Casper Golf full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers are extremely friendly as long as they weren't management. (General Manager or Corporate). Playing at other facilities is a plus if you can find the time.

    Cons

All they care about is the money. I understand it's a business, but the golf industry is more than that. Secret shopper is the worst thing for the golf business. They want you to be a robot behind the counter. Then having non qualified people teaching golf to members and the public is a big no no. But no one seemed to care.

    Advice to Management

Listen I've been the golf business for over 20yrs. I was a Head Pro and Assistant at many high traffic golf courses and private clubs. You are looking at this whole business in the wrong light. It is not about jamming your golf course with as many people as you can, it is about giving the public golfers a private club experience. Not by giving the same line when they come to the register and treating them like a $$$. Take the time to get to know your customers especially the members or season pass holders, they are the men and women who support the club day in and day out. It's a shame the town didn't want to keep C. C. W. because it is a good track but looking back maybe if you didn't have close to 6hr rounds and actually listened to someone with experience maybe the town would of kept it.
