I have been working at Bimbo Bakeries full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The company has not completely failed yet but if current practices continue, it won't be long. Every now and again you get a free loaf of bread. That's a "Pro."

Cons

The incompetence at all levels of management and decision making is astounding. If I didn't know better I'd think they are trying to fail at what they're doing. They are disorganized, inconsistent, short sighted, and have no vision past the end of the day.

Advice to Management

Clean house. Keep home office personnel if you want to but clean out operations. They will be the death of you. Ever hear of the "house divided"? BBU is a business model for a divided house. You have no future going in 12 separate directions with each market trying to out-stupid the other. I give you 10 years and only because you have some serious cash backing from Mexico.

I worked at Bimbo Bakeries full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    * Decent Salary
    * Senior Management is for the most part very friendly.
    * The company is growing in the U.S.

    Cons

    * Terrible amount of hours required.
    * Company is not really trying to develop new and innovative products to compete with competition.
    * The company isn't handling growth well and is actually losing market share as a result.
    * Benefits are terrible, but cost you a lot.

    Advice to Management

Train your management and evaluate your plant managers by giving subordinates an anonymous questionnaire. You might find out more than you'd expect to really help your bottom line.

I have been working at Bimbo Bakeries part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Employees, Customers, Delivery guys, good hours, and good pay

    Cons

We were originally Sara Lee Bakery Outlet and they bought us out and about a year after the buyout they started shutting down all the Bakery Outlet stores. We were one of them. :(
