I have been working at Blackbaud full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

In my role, I have a lot of flexibility and autonomy. I learn something new everyday.

Cons

Reorganizations happen at least once a year in each department and/or company-wide.
Amounts and frequency Promotions/Raises are very inconsistent across departments/teams.
Continual decrease in perks and benefits over the past 5 years.

Advice to Management

Let the dust settle and give things a chance before changing things up - again.

    Pros

    Interesting clients
    Decent benefits
    Company culture used to be positive; now is a witch hunt environment.
    Nice location (Charleston)

    Cons

    Convio acquisition has been a disaster that has ruined company culture.
    Recent layoffs cut too deep and company lost a lot of good talent.
    Remaining employees workload is overwhelming.
    Middle management is terrified of new senior management and looks to protect only themselves.
    Company will not address core issues: poor project scoping, no cohesive product strategy and failure to manage client expectations.
    Employees are expected to work 24/7-----churn and burn.

    Advice to Management

    Quit addressing the symptoms (forecasting) and start fixing the problems (realistic scoping, making project delivery more efficient and properly managing client expectations).

    Pros

    Great people, and you get to work with great organizations. Blackbaud also provides good opportunities for growth and focuses on providing career paths based on the employee's interests.

    Cons

    Blackbaud needs to improve its remote employee culture.
