Pros

BHN is a great community of collaborative people and it's simply a great place to work. The management team seems to genuinely care about the careers and futures of their employees.

Cons

BHN is a very fast paced environment; you need to be thinking on your feet constantly.

Advice to Management

Don't forget to reward employees for all their hard work!

    Pros

The product is good, the evolution of the company is interesting, and the employees see no translation of it in salaries or incentives.
    Location is great.

    Cons

    Disrespectful Management.
The work environment is harsh because what is requested to employees is to work without the necessary tools to achieve unrealistic goals.
Partners are usually impressed about how tough is the treatment on the phone of some Managers towards employees. I have encountered unprepared Managers that were qualified to deploy their Projects and had a proven record of it but had ZERO Management skills. I have seen unacceptable behaviors of Management within this company. Human Resources does nothing to protect employees from inappropriate management.

    Advice to Management

Think as a Manager in the Market not within a Safeway partially owned company. 2010 Management needs to be opened to feedback of all employees, be inclusive end your favoritisms, be competitive, listen to the feedback that people working for the lowest salaries has to give you. If you do not listen, they will leave, and they do.

"An extremely political environment and inexperience management."

    Pros

The company is located close to home. Probably some benefit in being part of Safeway but certainly not enough to have to tolerate this work environment.

    Cons

Political environment, inexperienced management (especially IT), unfair treatment of contractors, terrible benefits. The worse company that I have ever worked for in my 20 year career.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with respect, replace your IT management with people that have real experience and understanding of technology, breakdown barriers, minimize the politics, open communications with the workers and rethink your culture.
