I worked at Bleacher Report as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

-You get the chance to interact with the B/R community and to give writers feedback on their pieces.
-Copy editing mentors are extremely responsive and definitely make sure you are learning and improving.
-By the end of the internship, you will have, without a doubt, honed your editing, fact-checking, and proofreading skills overall.
-Scheduling is flexible.
-Well-structured program.

Cons

Since the nature of the internship is virtual, face-to-face communication is obviously out of the question. Communicating via e-mail can be inconvenient and frustrating at times, but this should be expected from the onset of the internship.

Advice to Management

Cannot really say, because this was a virtual internship, and I did not get to actually meet employees and experience the work environment.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Bleacher Report full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Casual work environment, opportunity to work from home part of the time, friendly and sociable staff. Good healthcare, competitive salary. At the end of the day, its sports. If you love sports (and in most cases you wouldn't be here if you didn't) its an aspect of the job you simply won't find most anywhere else.

    Cons

Very long hours, basically on-call 24-7. No long-term loyalty to employees. Meet expectations and still potentially lose your job. Don't tease yourself into thinking the company cares about you.

    Advice to Management

Show more appreciation for the hard work of the staff.
