    I worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Very friendly atmosphere, you can speak to Executive Directors since they are accessible, unless they are very busy with meetings. Great place for people with experience, not good if you are an intern and working in a department that necessitate high level education

    Cons

    Meeting-heavy, everything must be done in consensus. In my internship, I didn't get to learn the nitty-gritty of business performance. Other interns had far more work to do than me and got to learn more.

    Make your internship more comprehensive

    An industry leader with a caring and diverse workforce.

    Poorly trained, entrenched management more interested in riding out their careers than developing their business.

    Advice to Management

    High brand recognition does not equal high brand admiration. BCBSA would like to think it is Apple or Google. Actually, it's Comcast or ExxonMobil. Or, worse, it's PanAm or TWA.
