Disapproves of CEO

Pros

- full of people across departments who have worked and invested in the company.
- they are incredibly helpful and resourceful

Cons

- my department used to be full of people who loved their jobs, their contribution and their teams. Has been replaced by a smaller subset of the original department from 4 years ago who survived and are incredibly stressed.
- lacks strong leadership in regards to making decisions. busy bees are expected to do all the work regardless of resources or time.
- no clear direction or path to fulfilling our mission to provide affordable healthcare. Not for profit status is a joke.

Advice to Management

-There are "lifers" within the organization who should be recognized and rewarded. I am not one of them. I'm relatively new, but I have been discouraged with how a lot of the employees say "BSC used to be a great place to work".
- Set priorities and show leadership by taking responsibility of decisions and look out for your employees.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

They offer a decent amount of paid days of and holidays, and have competitive pay.

    Cons

There is a complete lack of communication between business units and they are horrible at documenting business processes. They also have no problem working you to the bone without much recognition.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    - good work/life balance (at least in my department)
    - always some low-hanging fruit to fix, so you can get some quick wins among the longer projects
    - ability to move around the company if you want to

    Cons

    - extremely siloed
    - very heavy-handed, top down culture
    - little encouragement to share information
    - bureaucratic (there's a committee/team for everything)

    Advice to Management

    - walk your talk on leadership principles and behaviors
    - encourage feedback
    - break down silos
    - become more nimble
