I worked at Bluegreen Vacations full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The vacation packages for full time employees are great as are the initial 4 weeks of paid vacation that they offer.

Cons

Very political atmosphere, not conducive for getting things done. Everyone wants their little piece instead of working for the greater good.

I am convinced that upper management (Maloney et. al.) have no idea waht is going on. If they did, and still allow these personalities to run roughshod over the company, then it is worse than I thought. I would prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Advice to Management

Pay CLOSE attention to what is happening in your company

I have been working at Bluegreen Vacations full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Anybody can be hired with or without selling experience. Can make money if you are a hustler.

    Cons

Management is a JOKE. Poor Listening Skills. Lack of Quality Face to Face Time. Beware vengeful unethical and racist managers with shadowy retaliation. Will find ways of cheating out of benefits. POOR Culture and NO values.

    Advice to Management

Need to hire quality District and Regional Managers so they can have the skills to pick better quality Store Mangers. STOP management turn over. Beware some will bring you to ruins especially the racists ones.

I worked at Bluegreen Vacations full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Bluegreen has several things going for it including, but not limited to, 401k matching, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, etc. There are many departments that great morale and teamwork environments. Pay is competitive and there is definitely opportunity to advance. Plus there are some really great people that work there.

    Cons

It's a fairly large company, and they have been unable to keep the company "undepartmentalized" in most instances; meaning that even within departments there may be subgroups that have trouble communicating effectively - annoying, but not insurmountable.

    Advice to Management

My biggest advice to move forward is to find a way to be a rare company - where it is a company that all works together. It's hard and most companies can't do it - but the great ones find a way.
