I have been working at Boeing full-time

    Pros

In the 6 years I have worked for the company, they have paid for my masters degree and three different certifications. I have also had the opportunity to travel and hold diverse positions within the company. I greatly appreciate my flex schedule, it might be the single greatest benefit that keeps me at the company.

    Cons

The union. The fact we have to keep terrible performers just because they have been here 20 years. They are expensive and do more harm than good for us.

    Advice to Management

Work with legislation to get rid of the unions!!

I have been working at Boeing as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the best group of people I have ever worked with

    Cons

Downside is that some have been there for so long becoming comfortable and end up just sitting, not many but enough (a great deal of it is at the management level) to have it become an attitude problem which has affected Boeing employees, who for the most part are hard workers but now Boeing has become associated with the people you don't want to hire, this has gotten to be known outside of Boeing.

    Advice to Management

Really reward the folks who do show initiative and keep them.
