I have been working at Bombardier full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary, overtime, close to home, job security.

    Cons

As manufacturing engineer (ME), less chance for development and ME as a whole are not well thought of by other departments.
Design, Stress and IT seem the best place to be. You have to take an interview to reach Band 6 (higher pay grade) but for ME, this interview is available only if there is a vacancy, whereas for design and especially IT, the interview is guaranteed.

I have been working at Bombardier full-time

    Pros

    - opportunity to work in world class products
    - great experience
    - flexible hours
    - good work/life balance
    - immediate supervisors/managers are close to the employees and usually understand their needs
    - everyday something new, there is no routine work for an engineer
    - opportunity to learn a lot

    Cons

    - too much politics in the company
    - you might spend most of your time with brainless work dealing with paperwork and heavy processes
    - below average salaries
    - no overtime pay
    - unbalance in amount of work between departments, some departments specially the ones that work in development programs are too much overloaded

    Advice to Management

    - standardize the processes and and make them more user friendly
    - upper management needs to get involved more in what's happening at lower levels
    - stop trying to copy the automotive industry and apply it to aerospace, it just doesnt work
