I have been working at Bonnier Corporation full-time (More than a year)

Pros

No dress code & reasonably flexible hours.

Cons

Very flaky new CEO, recent decisions make company morale very very low, very poor employee -to- management communication, no training, many manager are not even in-house (they work remotely from out of state, ridiculous!)

Advice to Management

Bring your management back into the office and make them communicate with and train your staff regularly. Focus on working with your team about project requirements and effort before making a schedule. Stop outsourcing.

I worked at Bonnier Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some very talented people, or at least were, before the low salaries and lack of opportunity forced them to seek employment elsewhere.
    pretty good work facility.
    good benefits.

    Cons

-very low salaries, little to absolutely no pay increases. always claim a promotion is a "lateral" move so they don't have to give you a raise.
-constant fear of being let go as they are very unstable. every friday for a while was scary...who was going to get let go this week?
-didn't even supply paper plates in the kitchens! they used to, and then cutting costs here and there eliminated even the little luxuries.

    Advice to Management

pay your employees more. pay them fairly. the low salaries only harbored resentment, making your GOOD employees feel like giving their jobs their all wasn't even worth it.

I worked at Bonnier Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits; nice people; laid-back atmosphere; nice location in Winter Park VIllage.

    Cons

Cost-cutting measures have been taken too far to please the Bonniers in Sweden. Great magazine titles are being completely shut down -- why not keep these titles for digital, at least? Morale is in the toilet, and while a commitment to digital is often talked about, it doesn't always happen.

    Advice to Management

Stay committed to digital and actually hire there; hire actual sales support and have marketing help with actual marketing; take less of a cookie-cutter approach. The new echelon of upper management doesn't understand each brand's unique needs -- think about this.
