    Pros

Ability to work on premier magazines with large exposure. With certain groups, fun projects are regular. Unlimited coffee.

    Cons

Technical decisions made by nontechnical people. Difficult to get quality equipment to test and work with. Shifting industry with uncertain future. Many employees are overworked and under-appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Regular conversations with employees to understand challenges. Define a structure and relay it to staff regularly due to high turnover.

I worked at Bonnier Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only positive I can think of about this company is the location of the New York office and the work life balance. Being able to run across to the gym helped keep me focused.

    Cons

Where do I begin. The staff is extremely rude and catty. Too many young people with high titles who are completely unprofessional and have no clue what they are doing. Company claims to want to go digital and once digital ideas start flowing all of a sudden it's too expensive to do. Sales team doesn't know how to sell programs and avoids digital programs because they don't feel commission is high enough. Way too much focus is put on events that barely add to revenue. Lack of on-boarding procedures or documentation describing marketing programs are available. Inexperienced sales executives don't know how to filter their actions and language in front of clients and think they can "wing" pitches most of the time.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue and open your eyes about what is going on in your office. Stop hiring seventeen million managers just to suck people in with meaningless titles and hire people who know how to motivate and lead a team not tear them down until they can't take it anymore. Spend more time in the office addressing issues instead of waiting for them to be so escalated and screaming throughout the offices..... In short manage.
