Pros
Many resources available. Great life-work balance. Great on-boarding support.
Cons
Booz Allen is a consulting firm. As such, you may assist in consulting a client, and when that project is done you may have to look for a different project so you can be billable (Not always, there are long term projects that you can support continuously & indefinitely). On the one hand, this can be stressful/anxious for some. On the other hand, it is a great opportunity to work on new things and not feel like you're stagnating working on the same old thing forever.
*Branding
*Teammates are smart, helpful, and outgoing. Type A without the narcissism.
*Culture of learning and improving for next time
*Opportunity for individual growth both career and skill-wise
*Work/contracts are interesting and fulfilling
*Education assistance for certifications is really easy to use, and encouraged
*Internal projects are cool and you can get involved if you want
*Job stability if you're assigned to a long term contract (most contracts are)
*Great company morale, people love working here. Kool-aid is 10/10
*Infrastructure and IT all works really well
*Lots of mentors available, from career managers to internal and external teams
*WLB - you can work 40 hours every week if you want, no one will ask you to do more if you don't want to.
*Inclusive and diverse without shoving it in your face
Cons
*Pay is around 10% below industry, although they offer market adjustments whenever you think you have justification
*Lots of the work is technically staff aug for the gov. KEEP IN MIND some of these staff aug roles are awesome, with challenging and interesting work that you will love to do. Staff aug does not mean low-skilled data entry.
*Possible to get stuck on work you don't like, though with some proactivity you can move
*Some contracts require use of gov computers which are old, slow, unkept.
*Some contracts will not allow telework and may require working in SCIFs
*Average benefits outside of education assistance - particularly the health insurance
*Company long term vision is shaky at the moment, but they have so much backlogged work that it hopefully won't really matter.
