I have been working at Boston Children's Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The hospital does AMAZING things every day. Most employees can relate to each other and feel supported by each other. Most units have great teamwork. Great benefits.

    Cons

Jobs are filled either internally or by "someone knowing someone" without the job even posted. HR could be more helpful, especially to current employees. Hospital has a lot of money in construction and upkeep of structure when many units are under staffed. Due to under staffing many people are over worked and not satisfied with their jobs. Parking is expensive/impossible and public transportation is unreliable and time consuming.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. People feel as though they can't speak up because they are afraid of being let go if they do. Communicate more with staff as well.
