I worked at Boston Consulting Group full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

As my first job out of university, I enjoyed the experience, connections, and real world learning from BCG. It exposed me to new working styles and real office pressure.

Pay was pretty good for a recent graduate

Benefits were also excellent

Cons

- There's only so much you can move up in the a consulting group, and with BCG I recommend taking your experience elsewhere after 2-3 years
- work hours are very long
- very competitive environment and little collaboration

Advice to Management

Consider how to foster a more creative environment and how to attract a more diverse team.

I worked at Boston Consulting Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, great perks, wonderful coworkers. Focus on work-life balance and try to be very family-friendly.

    Cons

No development for non-consulting staff. I was there seven years and only had one growth opportunity. Once I passed that, it was very difficult to break into the next step.

    Advice to Management

Need to develop non-consulting staff if you would like them to stay and be happy.

The best reasons I can think of for why I would choose to work of at the Boston Consulting Group include the compensation, the excellent health benefits, the smart people you work with and the tough problems that you can solve

    Cons

The reasons I can think of for why some other might not choose to work of at the Boston Consulting Group would be the long hours, but this is typical of the industry and the company pays a lot of attention to work-life balance
