I have been working at Boston Consulting Group full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

The culture, the people, the overall working environment and topics we work on. We have a lot of inspiring people within the company, work on many topics that matter not only for the business, but also society. Overall it's simply great to be a BCGer ;-)

Cons

The working hours are a clear con; as well the amount of travel (in many regions), maybe the on-boarding of new staff could be better, as it's really though to start with BCG.

I have been working at Boston Consulting Group as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people are extremely smart, compassionate, and interesting. They care about each other. Employees are allowed to keep their beards.

The work is among the most stimulating in the world. Working at BCG is some of the best business training available, with a first-class network to boot.

    Cons

Employees move up on a certain timeline, which is common to consulting companies. For an employee with varied interests, it's important to be very deliberate about which projects are selected so as to get exposure to the areas of highest priority before moving to the next role. As you achieve seniority, there is less leeway to start in a new area with no previous knowledge.

Good compensation, fast learning, a lot of client exposure, very nice people, focus on employee development, well laid out recruitment process,

    Cons

The Boston Consulting Group and consulting in general provides experience that is not valued very highly by traditional industries like oil and gas, power, etc.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing noteworthy
