Current Employee - Quality Engineer I in Fremont, CA

Approves of CEO

Pros

It's easy enough to get by. People just tip-toe around any issue and there is never any real confrontation. It's like political correctness gone wrong.

Cons

It can get mindless at times. No one seems to be competent at anything and no one wants to rock the boat.

Advice to Management

Hire people with a vision. There is no one with long term plans or the ability to motivate the people below.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Natick, MA
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Natick, MA

    Pros

You get to contribute directly to helping sick people and their doctors every day. There realy is a focus on the patient and the importance of what we all do to save/improve lives. Hearing from patients directly is very impressive.

    Cons

The company is going through a very big transition - selling divisons and a major outsourcing initiative that will send hundreds of jobs to India and China. Senior management is adopting a bunker mentality - keep your head down. There are some very good senior managers if you are lucky enough to get one. The IT support is "worst in class". Out systems are way, way behind the times.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that all employees know the direction of the company. Don't assume that your communication to senior managers is flowing down to their staff - it isn't! Invest in your information systems. It is not acceptable to always take the cheap way out and expect that increasing manual, paper-based processes will take up the slack. Don't be afraid of computers - they won't hurt you!

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Decent pay, great training opportunities and business practices. Some great people to work with as peers. The company has lots of potential.

    Cons

Weak leadership with lots of conflict. There are no business priorities, and management consistently operates in a state of chaos and confusion.

    Advice to Management

Get some tough leaders who can make decisions and set a direction, then enforce the plan. Prioritize business tasks appropriately.
