Pros

Office is close to subway Clients can be good to work with Most non-management employees are good and smart people

Cons

Overtime is expected and never paid even though the legal requirement they have to pay it. Not enough desks and space for all of their employees. Contractor aren't treated well, kept on month to month without any advance notice. Personal cell phone is expected to be used for work and not paid for. Interview process is very hard but they pay very low salaries. Thought I could grow there but they rarely promote from within. Culture is one of fear. Employees aren't treated with respect. Favourites are chosen, often friends of management who get things others do not. Constant criticism from management. Always putting employees down, sometimes yelling. Very disappointing place to work. Tried very hard to see the best in people there. Most new people hired don't last more than a few weeks because they find better jobs and more money. Management is the biggest part of the problem and they don't listen to what anyone says. All of the good people leave.

Thank you for your feedback on BrandActive. BrandActive works very hard to create the right environment for people to do their best work – from an environmental and a cultural perspective. We are still located on the subway but in a bright, modern, well-equipped office with gorgeous views. Our culture emphasizes treating everyone with respect and ensuring that employees really enjoy their work. In our most recent Employee Engagement survey, the vast majority of employees agreed with the statement “My manager treats all employees fairly and equally”. They also agreed with the statement “My manager has a sincere interest in my well-being”. In terms of work hours, BrandActive takes a flexible approach – allowing employees the flexibility to set their hours to meet the needs of their clients but also their personal lives. Pros

- Opportunity to work with executives at big companies across a wide range of industries - The projects run through all phases of a brand transition so you have the chance to develop different skills (e.g. budget planning, financial analysis, project planning) - Many opportunities to present in front of client senior leadership - Good chance to learn about various aspects of a business as a company's brand touches almost everything (e.g. marketing, product development, IT, signage). - Great for networking - BrandActive is a small company so you get to know your coworkers and senior leadership very well. - A lot of room for growth for less experienced employees (e.g. you could start as an associate and work your way up to senior manager or higher).

Cons

- The hours can sometimes be unpredictable due to client demands but this is typical at any consulting firm and BA leadership does a good job of trying to add more resources to a project when needed and also letting it be somewhat cyclical (e.g. sometimes you will have a very busy client for a period of time but then you may have a less busy client after that - BA didn't require a utilization rate/hourly billable requirements on employees which other firms I've worked at enforce and can create near constant workflow/stress). - Most of the projects are brand focused, and while there is still a lot of variety in that, there are some consultants that may prefer the chance to have engagements that go beyond that topic area.

Pros

Colleagues are nice and remote working is a plus.

Cons

Senior leadership team is a small exclusive, inexperienced group of narcissist who allow women to be treated terribly.
