Pros

You'll learn more about trucking and small business life than anywhere else in a similar amount of time. The the wide majority of office staff and drivers there are great people, and genuinely care about you as an individual. I've never had more fun at a job than I did here. Very casual workplace, usually that's a good thing. You have a lot of freedom to manage your window the way you see fit. Management backs you 100%. Ironbound section of Newark has great food and vibrant nightlife. Frequent meetings and discussion, lends to the idea of a cooperative workplace. You'll leave the job one day with a feeling of pride and accomplishment.

Cons

When it's bad, it's bad. Scary bad. Wild stress, extreme pressure and workload fluctuation. Computer systems are dreadfully slow. Teamwork can be strong, but sometimes lacks at critical times. You work in a trailer beneath Routes 1&9. Expectations are not always realistic, and compensation is not commensurate with the job's demands. You've got to be tough and ready or you'll be eaten alive.

Pros

Recently purchased by an equity firm, BTT is starting fresh as an organization. Ability to search out best practices as they develop and execute strategy.

Cons

BTT has hit the ground running in terms of developing their culture and systems with it's departure from Maersk. Not all ties are severed at this time in terms of infrastructure.
