I have been working at Bristol-Myers Squibb full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

-Work life balance (summer Fridays, working from home, flexible scheduling)
- Good compensation
- Special projects
- Ability to move around and stay with the company

Cons

- Hard to get promoted despite great performance reviews
- Lots of outsourcing
- Constantly changing business strategy without letting the dust settle
- Despite trying to be agile, the company has a long way to go
- Too many meetings lead to not enough time to innovate

Advice to Management

- Keep talent in house vs. outsourcing everything
- Let the dust settle before making decisions which impact the field and back office
- There are lots of dead weight in senior positions in the company. Identify where the productivity is really happening.

I have been working at Bristol-Myers Squibb full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

At some point the company delivers value/hope to patients. You get to put another known name on your resume.

    Cons

Systems and thinking are from the 1950's; incestuous, passive aggressive and old boy's network culture; extremely risk adverse which makes it impossible to actually get anything done. Everything needs a committee with multiple reviews and rehashing of the same topics...I've watched paint dry faster than it takes to make one simple decision at BMS. If you haven't been there for 20 years, it's very difficult to break in and forget about getting promoted. Women and minorities are not valued.

    Advice to Management

Advice for the BOD and shareholders....level the place and start over.

I have been working at Bristol-Myers Squibb as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice working environment, advanced facilities, kind people and a moderate salary, decent amount of vacation. I can't complain too much

    Cons

The cafeteria is too small and lack of food diversity. The surroundings are kind of rural, far away from big cities.

    Advice to Management

Hope the reorganization will be finished soon and everyone feels not shaky any more.
