Easy work-life balance. A 7-8 hour day seems typical. Strong SOPs in place and in many regards, the company runs smoothly. The culture was mostly supportive and collegial. Some interesting pipeline and current drugs. Decent benefits.
Cons
So much repetitive cross-functional reporting. Endless PowerPoints and presentations, many times saying the same thing to the same group of people just in different meetings. No real passion among most for the drug development process. Just seems like "a job" to many people.
The real stickler is that dealing with HR or "People Services" is a nightmare. I was eligible for COBRA and it took multiple phone calls/emails to get the COBRA package to sign up. Then a few months in, unknown to me, they canceled my health insurance even though they never invoiced me. This left me without insurance for a short while between jobs. Letting someone's health insurance lapse without aggressively calling, emailing, and otherwise trying to make contact seems almost evil to me.
