No opinion of CEO

Pros

Varied & interesting work (not pigeonholed)
Ability to work from home 1 day a week (hours can be high)
Very good pay higher up the ladder
Genuine coaching/supportive culture (while things are going well to middling)

Cons

Management - progression through the ranks very much depends on your manager
Management - espouse leadership & individual ownership of results, however when significant issues/challenges occur revert to a blame mentality apparently driven by a strong tendency to protect their personal KPI's/bonuses (which can be substantial dollars)

Advice to Management

Less spin doctoring when issues occur & more backbone (i.e. more honesty, openness & integrity)

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

    - Friendly culture
    - Good compensation and benefits
    - Global opportunities (if you know the right people...)
    - Emphasis on personal / professional development
    - Very strong company performance, sound financials

    Cons

    - Politics! Promotions and career moves largely a result of personal networks and "visibility" rather than competence and performance
    - Senior management often very egotistical, and can be arrogant
    - When things go wrong the blame is put on junior managers; success is attributed to senior managers and directors

    Advice to Management

Place more emphasis on capabilities, performance, and new ideas with real content, than on presentational skills. And let the focus be more on the job - there is too much duplication of reporting and too much bureaucracy.
