Pros

Good Compensation in terms of Bonus and RSU if you are in the right BU. Salary decent.

Cons

Not much in terms of promotions, not much down time.

Advice to Management

Look out more for your employee's career - not just how much he/she gets paid.

I worked at Broadcom as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Broadcom is technology leader and extremely competitive. Willing to discard programs, products and people that no longer are useful to the next phase of growth. These are hard decisions which are made by an internal group which protects their own interests; so far this group's ambition has built Broadcom into a tech leader.

    Cons

There are multiple small groups that make key decisions. It is difficult to learn the "secret society" but easy to offend them.

    Advice to Management

Broadcom is notoriously terrible in customer service and support. It is time to shift from competitor crushing to customer support. Many fear that Broadcom will enable ODM w/ SDN / NFV to undermine their own products, customers and destroy their revenue streams. Advice to mgmt ... not sure, but it would involve corporate responsibility and customer loyalty.

I have been working at Broadcom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Challenging work, but not enough time and resource, always very busy. Good team members but many bad managers.

    Cons

Work late and see manager go home on time. NO promotion after 4 year. People get lay off end of last year and more work now.

    Advice to Management

Manager should understand and be able to do what all team members do, so they can understand and appreciate the work and how long it takes.
