Compensation is pretty good. Everyone gets good amount of bonus through RSU and ESPP plan.
Information sharing is also well maintained.

    Cons

    Too little vacation days.
While yearly compensation is good, base salary itself is relatively low.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing to say

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Broadcom's executive management (CTO, CEO etc.) has good vision. So the company succeeds and will succeed in future. They have a lot of cash on their balance sheet. This allows them to sustain investments in new fields they venture into. They pay well, especially stock based compensation (although stock based compensation has been reducing, still seems to be better than others).

    Cons

Mid level management is completely incompetent with horrible product planning and execution
Mobile platform group has had close to 20 product development that management has abandoned at various stages of development in the past 4yrs.
The group is also understaffed on the pretext that it is not making money yet. This puts enormous work load on the engineering people. When people burn out, they just let go of them and hire new people.
The group is top heavy and so forget about growth or good remuneration. Mentorship is non-existent. So forget about professional growth / personal development. Infact management considers using engineers' skills developed in previous work experience as their forte.
Working here for maybe 1 to 2 yrs to make decent money is ok. Any longer, your work-life balance cannot be managed well and at the end of it not worth it

    Advice to Management

    have better product planning.
you cannot sustain a group long term by just hiring new people and working them until they burn out.
Personal agendas and positioning is ok as long as it is not detrimental to the overall business.
Everybody seems to be worried more about watching their backs than working towards the group's success
