I have been working at Brookdale Senior Living full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

You can make your own schedule.

Cons

Soon to be former employer.
So beurocratic you will think you are working for the federal government.
No communication between staff. Good old boy system.
Paid travel between buildings is dependent on if your regional manager wants to reimburse you. Mine told the physical therapist not to tell me he is paying her.
Crooked business practices. Only focus is the numbers (productivity)
You must sell your services to family members to keep your caseload.
They talk about a proactive approach to therapy but they wanted me to treat people who were so inappropriate for rehab due to the severe dementia just for the extra money.
NO CEU reimbursement at least for my region.
Home health visits are not paid as home health. You may as well be working in a SNF at least you will get paid more.
If you are ready to retire, have no morals, and have no motivation this may be the place for you.

Advice to Management

None...all they care about is their bonus anyway.

    Pros

benefits are fair and within range, property is very well maintained, food quality is up to par, great onsite staff to work with

    Cons

Staff should display a happy environment for residents however due to: Constant scrutiny from regional managers, inconsistencies in their direction, threatening your position, embarrassing statements during conference calls, militant atmosphere created by them with no dignity to personnel. Goals made unreachable. We should work in a homelike atmosphere, not a military branch.

    Advice to Management

Send out questionaires to lower and middle management staff and have them discreetly share with you the unprofessionalism of regional personnel in the Florida region (Melbourne to Stuart)
