I have been working at Broward County Schools

    Pros

    It beats filing unemployment compensation.

    Cons

The pay is horrible. Low intellectually and bipolar behavior type students are mixed in with the general population class group which completely slows down and/or disrupts the day.

    Advice to Management

Why are substitutes paid so poorly? Improve the pay and you will find more substitutes willing to tolerate a day in the life of a substitute. Also paper the disruptive students out the door. They are a hazard to the other students. Stop passing the intellectually challenged to the next grade. This type child needs to be retained in kindergarten or 1st grade. Students who are bipolar need their own class room.... Period.
