    Pros

Great middle managers and employees, fabulous reputation, beautiful facilities, a lot to be proud of with regards to the institution

    Cons

Inner-office politics like you cannot believe, old boys left and right, expect to be treated like dirt if you're not old money, and leave expectations of diversity and progressiveness at the door

    Advice to Management

Stop letting your little grudges come in between what are sound business decisions, needs a serious overhaul of employee incentives

I worked at Bryn Mawr Trust full-time

    Pros

Possible to get paid well, decent vacation, not long hours, there are some quality people that came from other mergers, but they are leaving quickly

    Cons

When the opportunity arose to become an employee at BMT after one of its recent mergers, I took several months to decide if it was a place that I wanted to work. After all, it meant job security, not a far commute, continuing to work with some of my former teammates. But the biggest negative was the corporate culture, which was stuck somewhere in the 1980s, Everyone must wear formal business apparel everyday, that means for you ladies out there, go buy some pantyhose (really) for those sweltering days of summer, never show a bare shoulder, only let two toes peek out of your pantyhosed shoes, and don't think for a moment that you will be doing business with anyone from your former bank, because your customers are not Main Liners. It's a place where everyone is all dressed up in a suburban Main Line office, stuffed into cubicles, unless you are at the highest level, of course, and enjoying the status quo.
