I worked at Burberry full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

50% discount for a limited time twice a year. Meeting interesting people sometimes. Seeing clothes of the new season before they are released to the public. Working in a luxury field.

    Cons

Horrible experience while working there. Worked in a leadership position but was never treated with respect by anyone in my store or the nearby flagship. Everyone always talked about how long they've worked at their store and seniority means everything, whatever I said didn't mattered.

Everyone except managers work on commission, and you are held accountable even though the country is going through a recession and no one wants to buy $400 scarfs. Sales associates troll around the store looking for customers and are total SHARKS, they will steal a sale from you and yell at you later for trying to take it from them. You have extremely low pay checks because of the low commission.

Long hours of standing on your feet, shifts are 9am-6pm or 12pm-9pm.

    Advice to Management

Bring excitement, fun, lessons, interest, passion, vitality, encouragement.

While everyone needs constructive criticism, be nice about it and don't push too hard all at once, it's not the most fun job in the world.

    Pros

Deep respect of the multi-culturism, from customers and managers. Wages paid on time. Good credit records. Very interesting british Fashion culture environment. Usefull as a first, or student job in the UK. Very good team work ambiance.

    Cons

Wages and commisions are too low for an expensive city like London. Vertical promotion non-existent or to slow. Qualified elements rarely stay.

    Advice to Management

An effective frame of internal promotion would allow to keep the Buberry culture and motivate a bit more the employees and the managers.
