I have been working at Burlington Stores part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

-Flexible hours (great for students)
-Lots of camaraderie between the associates (break room is very friendly)
-Great employee discount on merchandise
-Workload is manageable

Cons

-It is minimum wage
-The hangers leave a weird smell on hands
-Some of the shoppers are at times messy in the fitting rooms and out on the floor (to be expected in retail)

Advice to Management

Great job so far.

I worked at Burlington Stores part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The senior staff is very helpful and can be very informative of other departments. The staff as a whole do their best to keep the store shopable, and the flow of merchandise is always being refreshed by the merchandise team. Weekly pay checks.

    Cons

The management needs to be trained in management skills, there also needs someone to really train newly hired staff. Burlington expectation of staff is not reasonable, there are many projects thorough out the store that are started and very rarely totally completed. The Management team say one thing but something else is done, schedules are changed with hardly any notice no time for family, sick, vacation,

    Advice to Management

More training for newly hired/and department transfers,be honest with staff about pro and cons of performance and what needs to be done in work area. Be more involved with all aspects of day to day operations of the store. BE Consistent and Fair regardless of who it is.

I have been working at Burlington Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible Hours
Environment can be relaxing at times
    Weekly Pay

    Cons

Workload is horribly balanced, Too few employees with too few Hours
    Very Fast Turnover Rate.
Managers screw around with the schedule to much, then scold you for their screw ups.
    "tattle tell" environment.
    Pay Sucks
If you ask for a day off even months in advance, you probably wont get it anyways

    Advice to Management

Managers, Let employees work instead of having to constantly butt into everyone's business by either screwing up schedules, getting other employees to tattle tell, etc.... Your job is to keep the employees happy, not to try to upset them.
