I worked at Burns & McDonnell full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Competitive compensation, most people are friendly, good benefits. There are plenty of afterwork activities that allows you to build relationships with your coworkers.

Cons

They need to do some house cleaning on management in CDB. Management does not listen to any input and the processes are out of date. If you have any ideas to stream line a process, then good luck because your idea will be shot down. Systems are out of date, and some management does not have integrity.

Advice to Management

If you plan on keeping talent, then go back to your roots. The new managment is poor at communication and they wont take responsibility for their roles. Invest in training rather than focusing on billable time. It will save the client money in the long run.

I have been working at Burns & McDonnell full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The best thing about working for Burns & Mac is the ESOP. 2nd is the culture. The people work as a team in my department. The work is rewarding. The year end bonuses are top-notch. No complaints about the benefits. And we have an awesome CEO.

    Cons

We are required to work long hours. A few of the upper management have huge egos which can be frustrating at time. Business attire is so 1980's. Let's lose the ties and panty hose and close-toed shoes rules.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to step up and weed out the dead wood. Daycare would be a great addition to the benefits. I'd rather work longer days 4 days per week, and have 3 days off.
