Pros

Most of the staff here work really hard. They are dedicated to what they do and it shows. There are many well functioning systems in place such as Salesforce, Yammer, ect. They are flexible with working from home which is nice.

Cons

The leadership of BSR namely the CEO is a micromanager to the max. He is very risk adverse. Loves to talk about transparency yet will always give a politician answer and does not tell it straight. Disconnected as to what is actually happening in the company yet wants to be involved in all decisions made in the organization. That being said he is very detailed oriented which is actually his strongest suit.

    Pros

Lots of exciting projects, mission-driven, co-workers were dedicated and smart, work-life balance was emphasized.

A number of offices in different countries that felt independent of one another. Project work was often repetitive due to lack of internal coordination.

Coordinate, streamline and formalize procedures across the organization.

I have been working at Business for Social Responsibility full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Engaging work, impactful and mission driven organization. Opportunity to learn and develop.

    Cons

Very profit driven for a non-for profit. Heavy focus on revenue and not as much on impact. Work life balance is tough to handle due to global teams. Poor benefits.
